About

Ever go to a restaurant, take one look at the menu, and feel like it was written in a totally foreign language? How the heck are you supposed to enjoy a meal when you have no idea what it is you’re ordering, let alone whether you’ll even like it?

Enter: Menuology – a sort of google translate for your palette.

The brains behind the operation? Just a college student who loves to travel, try new foods, and watch Food Network for hours on end…seriously, it’s a bit of a problem. Anyways, these experiences have made me pretty fluent in the language of food, and have turned me into the polar opposite of a picky eater. As such,  I think it’s a shame that so many people miss out on really delicious foods just because the ingredients are unfamiliar to them.

To change that, I’ll be posting “translated” menus – or menus whose less common ingredients are replaced with other, familiar ingredients with similar flavor profiles- so more of the people around me can explore new foods with less hesitation!

It’s my hope that Menuology can make everyone more fluent in language of food–without watching thousands of episodes of chopped 😉

With love & salt,

Ally
